The Kingdom of Buganda under its Bulungibwansi ministry has signed a memorandum of Understanding with Kampala capital city authority to beef up joint efforts in cleaning Kampala city.
The function was held at Bulange Mengo.
The partnership focus will be on strategic intervention campaigns aimed at keeping Kampala clean through collective efforts and community engagements faced in urban sanitation programs.
The partnership seeks to Setting up joint community activities in areas of mutual interests, such as community outreach programs, sanitation missions
In his address, Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga emphasized a need for a clean Kampala, “We need a clean and organized capital city, a city which is well positioned with schools, health centers, flowers, and cleanliness and admirable.
He recalled the need to put into consideration the Kabaka’s call of promoting good health, sanitation and welfare of the citizens as this will control the spread of health related diseases.
Kampala capital city authority executive director, Jennifer Musisi welcomed the efforts to have the city clean through making partnerships as this is the way to go and collaboration with Buganda Kingdom will support city-led community development programs and mobilize communities since the Kingdom’s strategic plans aim at improving the livelihoods of common people.
