The Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II today celebrated His 24th Coronation anniversary at Buweekula County.
The subjects flocked the playground of Kaweri Primary School where the celebrations were held.

The Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, yesterday marked 24 years since he was enthroned as the King of Buganda on July 31 in 1993, making Mutebi the 36th Kabaka of Buganda.
This year’s celebrations are under the theme: Protection and use of land for the development of Buganda and Uganda. They have been held at Buwekula County headquarters in Mubende district.
Before the ceremony, the Kabaka visited the historical tree of Nakayima in Mubende to pay homage.
The Kabaka’s visit to the Nakayima Shrine reaffirmed that the management of this Buganda’s cultural site is under Buganda government although there were misconceptions with Mubende district local government over the site,” the Buwekula County Chief Immaculate Nantaayi Kafeero said.
People from all walks of life attended the ceremony, including the prime minister of Uganda Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, Tie Adola, Steven Moses Owori, the presidential senior advisor Gen. Salim Saleh, Buganda ministers, central government officials, members of parliament, county and sub-county members among others.

In His address to the subjects, Kabaka showed the need of promoting the cultural tourist sites as this promises to bring together a variety of activities and attractions under a unified theme and thus stimulate entrepreneurial opportunity through the development of ancillary and services. If the above is put into consideration the sector will disperse income from tourism and also bring the lesser known attractions and features into the tourism business.
His Majesty the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II further reminded the youths to be fully involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS as the disease is rampant among the youths according to statistics.
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga called on the government to establish independent courts that will deal with land compesation matters so that both the land owner and the government benefit from the property.

The prime minister of Uganda Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda delivered president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni's message who appreciated the partnership and cooperation between Buganda government and Uganda government.
The ceremony was graced by dignitaries mentioned; Nnabagereka Sylivia Nagginda, Prince David Kintu Wassajja, Prince Cryspin Jjunju, Nnaalinnya Nabaloga, Prince Richard Ssemakookiro, Princess Joan Nassolo, Princess Katrina Ssangalyambogo, Kabaka's ministers, Buganda institutions CEOs, Members of Parliament, County and sub county chiefs among others.
