The Kingdom of Buganda is situated in the Central region of the country known today as Uganda. It is right in the heart of Africa astride the Equator and in the North West shores of Lake Victoria and it's also the source of the great river Nile. Buganda Kingdom is the home to the nation's political and commercial capital city Kampala as well as the country's main International airport Entebbe.

The Kingdom's equatorial climate provides plentiful sunshine which is moderated by relatively high altitude. Since it's near Lake Victoria, it's mean annual temperature ranges from 16 degrees 25 degrees Celsius. Daytime temperature averages between 8 degrees to 10 degrees Celsius warmer than night temperatures. Rainfall is evenly distributed around the area and the mean annual rainfall often exceeds 2100 millimeters. His Majesty the King of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II served the Muslims with Iftar at an event held at Bulange Mengo.

The event which begun at 7:00pm started with prayers in a special way before the Iftar was served to the guests who included various diginitaries, businessmen and other invited guests.

The event was graced by the Supreme Mufti Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa who led the guests into prayers. Sheikh Ndirangwa called on the authorities to do their best to see that acts of murder and killings come at halt.

Mr. Ndirangwa appreciated His Majesty the Kabaka for hosting them on the dinner every year, that this action has helped to bring the muslims together and be intact with their Kabaka.

The 2nd Deputy Katikkiro and Minister for finance in Buganda Kingdom, Owek Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa delivered the message on behalf of the Katikkiro Charles Peter, urged the Muslims to carry on the good the behaviors which they have exhibited during the lent hence making fasting important to the nation.

Owek Nsibirwa added, “Traditionally, Iftar is one of the religious observances of Ramadan and is often done as a community, with people gathering to break their fast together,”

Serving Iftar is an annual event on the calendar of the Kingdom of Buganda.
