The Kingdom of Buganda has today celebrated 26 years of Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II on the throne. The main celebrations were held at Nkumba University, Katabi sub county, Busiro County.
In his remarks, Kabaka called on the government to re-introduce cooperative groups that provided job opportunities to the citizens hence promoted economy.
Kabaka also encouaraged his people to grow coffee in order to generate enough income.
The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar III urged political leaders to work hand in hand with cultural leaders to promote the welfare of the people. He said, Cultural leaders play a greater role in transforming the lives of their subjects and bringing them together for as one yet they have less funds to transmit the necessary services required for the betterment of people's lives.
Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga stressed the need of sticking to the five pillars which will drive the Kingdom up to the helm.
