Do prior investigations before arresting suspects – Kyewalabye Male
Oweek. David Kyewalabye Male, The Minister for Culture; Tourism and Palaces in Buganda Kingdom, has appealed to the government and its security agencies, to carryout thorough investigations before arresting suspects.
This was in his message today, as he received Oluwalo from Bulemeezi and Butambala, on behalf of the Katikkiro, at Bulange.
The minister noted that many people are arrested before investigations are done thoroughly, and some time the investigations even take longer, leading to delayed justice.
In the same way, Oweek. Male has appealed to Kabaka’s chiefs to desist from selling the Kingdom’s properties that are under their custody, but rather, to protect them jealously by putting up development projects that can generate income to boost the Ssaza finances. He stressed that utilising the land will prevent land grabbers from accessing it.
He furthermore emphasised the need for Kabaka’s local leaders to sensitize the masses about proper land regulations, and to advise bibanja owners to secure their tenures from their landlords to avoid encumbrances in future.
The Minister of State for Local Government and Royal Travels, Oweek. Joseph Kawuki, expressed gratitude over people’s resilience in supporting the Kingdom’s endeavors despite the current financial crisis.
He called on government to tighten people’s security so that they can ably engage in development activities without fear.
The Kangaawo, Oweek. Ronald Mulondo, said that Kabaka's leaders in Bulemeezi has improved in their service delivery and pledged their continued submission to the Kabaka and his government.
The Members of Parliament from Bulemeezi; Hon. Brenda Nabukenya and Hon. Robert Ssekitooleko, who were also in attendance, pledged to continuously support the Kingdom’s endeavors and promised to strengthen the campaign for the promotion of coffee growing in Buganda.
They called upon parents to take their children to school apart from sensitizing them in cultural morals and values.
Today’s Luwalo was attended by the following Sub Counties; Bamunaanika; Mutuba IV Makulubita; Mutuba 9 Kamira; Mumyuka Nsege Butuntumula; Ssaabaddu Kapeeka; Mutuba X Semuto, and Ssaabagabo Kibibi.
Together they gathered 37,650,000/=
