His Majesty The Kabaka sends confidential message to the Emir of Kano
The 1st Deputy Katikkiro, Oweek. Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase, together with Oweek. Mariam Nkalubo Mayanja, have met the Emir of Kano, His Eminence Alhajj Aminu Ado Bayero, at his Palace, in Kano and delivered to him a confidential message from the Kabaka of Buganda, during this year’s Kano Durbar Festivities.
Oweek. Kaawaase, explained to the Emir on how the Kingdom of Buganda takes advantage of Kabaka’s good will among his people, to make social and economic development partnerships with credible companies and organizations that support the Kingdom’s programs and initiatives.
On his own behalf, Oweek. Kaawaase donated a copy of the Quran to the Emir.
The horse riding rituals in which the Emir participates directly are expected later today. The horses are ridden in a procession of provinces with each province led by a prince. The procession ends at the Emir’s palace.
