Mmwanyi Terimba - Mawogola
The Katikkiro of Buganda, Oweek. Charles Peter Mayiga, has today visited Mawogola farmers under the Mmwanyi Terimba initiative.
Katikkiro started the day with a meeting between the local leadership at the Sembabule taxi park; proceeded to the Kasaana primary school, where he met several cooperatives; went to a rice farm; proceeded to Ssalongo Bernard Lwanga Kafeero coffee farm, ate Kijju and ended the day with a joint rally at St. Peters primary school, Mateete.
Throughout the day, the Katikkiro called upon farmers to work within cooperatives, and to adopt irrigation; engage women and the youth into farming activities and the gospel about coffee consumption.
He also handed out 18 motorcycles to the 18 counties to help the reach out to farmers easily, and launched 16 step chart to be followed by coffee farmers in Buganda.
He also received 5 million from members of Mateete SACCO, in support of the Kingdom programs.
