Oweek. Prof. Twaha Kaawaase Travel to Kano
The 1st Deputy Katikkiro, Oweek. Prof. Twaha Kigongo Kaawaase, has traveled to Kano in Northern Nigeria, on official duties to represent the Kabaka of Buganda, in this year’s "Kano Durbar Cultural and Religious Festival"
He is accompanied by Oweek. Mariam Nkalubo Mayanja, and his assistant, Joweria Mbejjo Kalule.
"Kano Durbar", a socio-religious themed event, which celebrates the culmination of the month of Ramadan, Eid Elfitr, and Eid Al-Adha in the Muslim faith.
It is spear headed by the Emir of Kano, starting with a prayer, and then horse processions, towards the Emir’s Palace, where people gather to pay allegiance to the Emir.
The festival lasts for four days with a variety of cultural and crafts’ exhibitions.
