Katikkiro Mayiga meets Kabaka’s Masaza Chiefs and their Deputies
The Katikkiro of Buganda, Oweek. Charles Peter Mayiga, has met the masaza (county) chiefs and their deputies to appreciate them for their dedicated services and to update them about the Kingdom’s ongoing programs and initiatives.
Speaking to the chiefs, the Katikkiro urged them to emphasis the Kingdom’s new approach to foster development, which revolves around 4 key pillars including innovation, diligence, transparency and passion.
He appreciated their efforts in mobilizing and encouraging the people to support and get involves in the Kingdom’s programs and initiatives.
He appealed to the chiefs to dedicate more time to mobilizing the people to engage in income generating venture, especially agriculture and other activities that can eradicate poverty and uplift their standards of living.
The Katikkiro thanked the chiefs who have managed to renovate their ssaza headquarters, and urged them to jealously and tidily maintain them.
The Attorney General who is also the Minister of Local Government, Oweek Christopher Bwanika, thanked the Katikkiro for sourcing for partnerships from across the world that support the Kingdom programs.
The minister of state for Local Government, Oweek Joseph Kawuki, presented Kabaka’s new representative in areas of Rwenzori, and Bundibugyo, Oweek. Samuel Ssempeebwa, who replaced Ibrahim Ssentongo.
