Katikkiro meets Buganda Kingdom Sub County Chiefs
The meeting was held today at Muganzirwazza, in Katwe, with the aim of thanking the chiefs for their dedicated services to the Kingdom, and to brief them about the Kingdom’s ongoing programs and initiatives.
The Katikkiro stressed the need for people working together to meet frequently and get to know one another; exchange ideas, and strengthen unity.
He reminded them of their responsibilities as Kabaka’s chiefs, and urged them to meet regularly; make frequent visits to the parishes and villages under their jurisdiction, monitor the Kingdom activities; and to maintain and protect the Kingdom’s properties.
He appealed to them to inculcate the Kingdom’s programs among the people in order to uphold the King’s efforts to improve his people’s standards of living.
The Kingdom Attorney General, Oweek. Christopher Bwanika, warned the chiefs against signing contracts or agreements on behalf of the Kingdom without his approval because they will be considered null and void.
He thanked the Kabaka for the motorcycles and boats given to the chiefs to ease their transport as they carry out the Kingdom’s programs.
The Minister of State for Local Government, Oweek Joseph Kawuki, guided the chiefs through the Kingdom’s workflow and urged them to establish proper communication channels to deliver information to the ordinary person in the villages.
